Transport Graphics

Last week I took my bus/train/car obsessed 2 year old to the Transport Museum in London. I expected buses and trains but I didn’t expect the cool vintage transport posters and signage. Here are some of my favourites below. Apologies for the poor quality phone images. Ha!   I loved seeing the old tube maps   And next time you’re cursing about that 3 minute wait between trains, … Continue reading Transport Graphics

Beyond El Dorado: Power and Gold in ancient Columbia

On Sunday we went to this fabulous exhibition at the British Museum. It was a bit off my usual modern art track but when American Airlines, travel partners of the exhibition, invited me to go along I jumped at the chance. It’s been years since I’ve been to the British Museum.  It’s a great place for families. Etta and Jasper loved running around in the … Continue reading Beyond El Dorado: Power and Gold in ancient Columbia

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I’ve been very busy these last few weeks designing Christmas cards. Now that it’s mid-November I think it’s time to share. I’ve designed some cards for kids and adults and some that are very particular to London and East London, where I live. My Egg to my Nog card has been listed in the Etsy Editor’s picks blog as one of their favourite holiday cards I … Continue reading It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

London Design Festival

It’s that time of year again where there is just so much going on in London. Before Children (BC) and when I was working full-time I always found it hard to prioritise which events to attend during the London Design Festival (god my life was hard back then – sigh) There were always so many openings to attend in the evenings (so many free drinks to consume!) … Continue reading London Design Festival

The Dead Dolls Club

For my husband’s birthday this year we wanted to go somewhere a little different. The Dead Dolls Club in deepest  Dalston didn’t disappoint. Situated on a very uninspired stretch of Kingsland Road this pop-up restaurant is set up in a defunct restaurant space. The interiors are very DIY. Furniture is handmade, and the light bulbs held by wooden hands come from the owners’ design label, … Continue reading The Dead Dolls Club

oh comely magazine

I love this. The editors of oh comely magazine  decided to hand-deliver and handful of their magazines to their London readers, to mark their third birthday. They made this charming film and shared it on youtube . Beautifully shot with a great soundtrack – and just a really sweet idea. oh comely is published six times a year, available in over a thousand nice places in the UK as … Continue reading oh comely magazine
