After a very boring start to our Sunday (a visit to Topps Tiles -yawn) we went for a rather messy burger at Dirty Burger in Whitechapel. With a pared back menu of just a few burgers and chicken from a spit, it’s a great place to go if you’re hungover and struggling to make those difficult choices. We were surrounded by a bunch of 20 somethings that looked like they hadn’t been to bed – I could tell they loved our screeching children.
Created by the Soho House Group, The interior is all exposed brick and ductwork with tables made from OSB board. A former home for naval officers the Grade II listed building dates from 1695.
I didn’t taste these sauces but they smelt lovely and hot. Love the graphics.
The burgers do look a little McDonalds but they taste a million times better. Served with mustard and pickle, the meat was full of flavour and served slightly pink. And if you’re veggie you can order the Dirty cop-out.
I think these oranges were display only – not dirty enough
To walk off our burgers we went for a walk along Brick Lane. I loved this ingenious coffee cab created by The Black Cab Coffee Co. But be prepared – a latte will set you back £2.70!
