Yorkshire Sculpture Park

While our kitchen is being extended we’ve had to move out of our house for a few weeks. Perfect excuse to jump in a hire car and head to Sheffield to visit some friends. We rented a house through airbnb (thoroughly recommended!) and spent 2 weeks exploring the Peak District. Such a beautiful part of the world. One of my favourite days was spent at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

It’s a vast place with sculptures by the likes of Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Antony Gormley, Julian Opie – and many more.

500 acres of fields, hills, woodland, lakes and formal gardens combine to create a beautiful landscape and stunning setting for Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

Yorkshire Sculpture Park is a pioneering place that aims to challenge, inspire, inform and delight, welcoming over 300,000 visitors, including 40,000 learning visits each year.

The kids loved it just as much as us. Bring a picnic blanket and spend a full day and then put another day aside to go back. There is so much to see.

Currently there is are 2 major exhibitions by Ursula von Rydingsvard and Tom Price

And entry is free! I’m really keen to go back as we didn’t get to see half of it.
