Kitchen inspiration

My architect husband has been busily designing our new kitchen for the last 5 years (it’s really only been about 6 months but as I’m really, REALLY impatient so it’s beginning to feel like 5) We are hoping to extend and open the back onto the garden (fingers crossed for planning permission!) I have been collecting some of my favourite dream kitchens in my Pinterest folder. Even though our kitchen won’t directly look like any of these we are using elements from some of images below. Unfortunately I can’t credit most of them as all links are either broken or not credited on the original site. If you know any of these images please let me know who they belong to and I’ll make sure I place a credit to the designer and photographer

We are having an island unit (I’ve always wanted one!) and above we’ll be using Tom Dixon pendants – to achieve a look at bit like this fabulous black and white kitchen below.

If we extend we’ll have an industrial style brick wall, like below, with our units running along it. We’re also having stainless steel work tops.

I love this distressed wall

We’ll be installing stepped shelving by the dining room table

All units will be white – as will the walls (source House to Home)

We’re having a Louis Poulsen PH50 pendant above the dining table.  I love the typographic poster in this kitchen (source husligheter.se – a great interiors blog)

One corner of our kitchen will be a kiddie corner with blackboard and magnetic paint for all their glorious art work. I once owned this green metal side table as seen in the pic below. I can’t remember what happened to it? It must have got lost in one of my many moves – shame

and below are just some kitchens I love.

I really hope our kitchen looks half as good as some of these. Hoping to start work in the summer. I will of course keep you posted on developments and show you the finished product. Please see my Pinterest board for more inspiration)
