I haven’t blogged about fashion before as I don’t really see many designs that I get excited about but the new collection by Gareth Pugh is amazing. This is fashion as art and is truly inspirational.
Pugh made these black dresses below out of bin bags sourced from a pound shop in Stoke Newington.
The collection also featured floor-length dresses in heavy fabrics and leather.
White dresses were embroided with gold branches.
I love the colour of the dress below.
Of course I could never wear one of these but I love the fact that they were designed in Hackney and are just so incredible. He started his career at the age of 14 designing costumes at the English National Youth Theatre – which is just so young to be so focused. I was lucky if I got out of bed at 14.
Pugh’s show took place at the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild in Paris on 27 February 2013.
