cinemagraphs – Who knew?

So I’ve learnt a new word today – Cinemagraphs. They are basically animated GIFs but not as we know them. Cinemagraph is a technique of blending the effects of images and videos. It was introduced by a New York fashion photographer Jamie Beck, in collaboration with motion graphics designer Kevin Burg. It’s all very Harry Potter and there’s some fabulous images out there on the web. I have included a few below that I think are pretty spectacular. I’m hoping to create my own one day – can’t be that hard can it? There’s a great tutorial here

I’m not sure I can go back to still images now. Stunning!
