Bella Sardinia

In June we spent two wonderful weeks in Sardinia. We swapped homes through the website Intervac. This was our second swap (the last being Reykjavik) Fantastic way to travel especially if you have children. I celebrated a rather large birthday while we were there, which was made just that little bit easier in the sunshine. We had a lovely birthday lunch at  Hotel La Bitta in Arbatax. Fantastic beachside setting with stunning views. Over lunch we discovered that Etta is partial to squid ink risotto and coffee. Mature palate for a 2 year old! We spent each day either at the beach or touring the surrounding hills. We would then do as the Italian do and have a siesta followed by Campari or bellinis (made with our own peaches from the fruit orchard) on the terrace. It’s reassuring to know we can still have an enjoyable holiday with children.

Etta loved playing in the “orter”
